Jacqueline Dougan Jackson

Jacqueline Dougan Jackson's first book was published as a newspaper serial when she was ten. She has since published thirteen books, two from Northwestern University Press (Stories from the Round Barn, More Stories from the Round Barn) and numerous stories, articles, and academic papers. Several barn stories were written when she was fifteen, but she didn't go into high gear collecting material for what has become an encyclopedic account of the history of Wisconsin's Dougan dairy and seed corn farm until 1967. The Round Barn, nearing completion, will be published in three volumes. Jackson is a professor emerita at the University of Illinois Springfield and conducts a weekly writing seminar at her home.
