The wisdom of spring

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

The high temperature is 43 degrees, the chance of thunderstorms is 100%, and it’s officially spring in Chicago. On a day like today, we need some levity, but we’ll settle for satire.

  • The Guardian hypes a technological innovation with preventative health properties, the Flipbook.
  • For those who can’t resist e-readers but want to support indie booksellers, the Indle transcends barriers and features the audio stylings of Ira Glass.
  • John Scalzi lists twenty-five facts of e-publishing on one convenient bingo card.
  • And in McSweeney’s, “A self-published author addresses the small gathering at the launch party for her memoir.”

Remember, "Patience is the companion of wisdom" (Saint Augustine). Spring bides its time.
