Gayle Levy

Gayle Levy is Associate Professor of French and Honors Program Director at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is the author of Refiguring the Muse (http://www.peterlang.com/download/datasheet/44366/datasheet_63782.pdf) and numerous articles and reviews published in 19th-Century French StudiesContemporary French CivilizationExcavatio, and Honors in Practice. Her recent translations appear in volumes three and four of Rethinking France (http://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/R/bo8463063.html), the new English editions of Pierre Nora's Les Lieux de Mémoire. Her current research concerns French resistance fighters during WWII who went on to fight in the French wars of decolonization.
