Katharine Beutner is the author of Alcestis, which won the 2011 Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction. As of fall 2013, she will be an assistant professor of English at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa; she previously taught at the College of Wooster. Her writing has also appeared in Public Books, Humanities, MediaCommons's The New Everyday, and Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet.
