Carol Muske-Dukes is the author of eight books of poems (the most recent Twin Cities, just published by Penguin), four novels, and two collections of essays. She is also co-editor (with Bob Holman) of Crossing State Lines: an American Renga, a conversation-poem with 54 American poets, just out from FSG. She is the poet laureate of the state of California and recently put together and published The Magical Poetry Blimp Pilot's Guide, a handbook of poetry for children. She is professor of English and creative writing at the University of Southern California and founder of the PhD program in creative writing/literature. She reviews poetry for the Huffington Post, has been the recipient of many awards, and is published and anthologized widely.
